This statement reflects the
core values of The Master's Church.
Though not perfectly attained in our ministry, we hope these
values will define us and shape us to be a church that
consistently brings honor to God.
Paramount
Concern for God's Glory-
Our highest priority in
ministry is God's glory. We want everything we do to honor Him and to reflect His character and His power to the world. Therefore, we will
measure everything we do with the Scriptures and strive to maintain a
high standard of excellence in all of our
ministries and activities. Our highest ambition is to please God
(I Corinthians 10:31; 2 Corinthians 5:9; Ephesians 3:21;
Colossians 3:23-24).
Expository Bible
Teaching and Preaching-
We believe in the absolute
sufficiency of God's Word to make people wise unto salvation and to equip them for every good work. Therefore, we are uncompromisingly committed to sound expository (verse by verse) Bible teaching and preaching as our primary means of
promoting Christ-like maturity (Psalm 1:1-3, 19:7-11; Isaiah 55:8-11; Matthew 4:4;
Acts 20:32; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; 4:1-2).
Authentic
Worship-
Since we cannot begin to
calculate His worth, His preciousness, or the measure of His grace
and surpassing goodness toward us, worshipping our Lord is at the
center of all that we do. It is our constant aim to exalt Jesus
Christ in our music, in our preaching, and in our conversations
(Colossians 3:16-17; Hebrews 13:15).
Personal
Holiness-
Since Jesus died to make us
holy, we will emphasize the importance of holy living and we will
show the proper concern when anyone in our fellowship who claims
to be a Christian drifts into sin. We will humbly and lovingly
follow Biblical principles to restore them to a right relationship
with God and to protect the unity and testimony of our church
(Matthew 18:15-17; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Galatians
6:1; 1 Timothy 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:25-27; Titus 3:10-11; I Peter
1:14-16).
Godly
Leadership-
Christ is the Head of our
Church and He mediates His rule in our church through men who are
Biblically qualified elders (Ephesians 1:22; 4:15; 1 Thessalonians
5:12-14; Hebrews 13:7, 17).
Active Members Using Their Spiritual Gifts-
Believing that God has
uniquely gifted every Christian for active participation in the
ministry of the church, we encourage our pastors and teachers to
help others to discover their spiritual gifts and to equip them
for works of service (I Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 4:11-16).
Genuine
Fellowship Fostered in Small Groups-
We want to be a church of
small groups where we model Biblical fellowship- caring
for one another, meeting one another's needs, and considering how
to stimulate one another to love and good deeds (Acts 2:42-47;
Hebrews 10:24).
Sincere Love
and Concern for Unbelievers-
We will use every available
Christ-honoring means to reach the people in our community with
the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will work to ensure that our ministries are culturally relevant. We will train our church
members to give a confident account of the hope within them.
Furthermore, we will work regularly to plant new churches and give
generously to support domestic and international missionary
efforts (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 3:15).
Devotion to
the Family-
We will do all that we can to
strengthen marriages and families and to protect them from the
destructive pressures of our culture (Philippians 2:15; 2 Timothy
1:5).
Earnest
Intercession-
Believing that our Father
desires to answer the prayers of His children, we encourage both
our members and our leaders to intercede on behalf of this
ministry and to rely upon prayer in the conception, planning and
execution of its ministries (Matthew 7:7-11; 1 Thessalonians
5:17).
Expansive
Dreams for God's Glory-
Since God is able to do far
more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the
power that works within us, we should never stop dreaming great
dreams and making bold plans to reflect His glory to the world
(Psalm 19:1; John 14:12; Ephesians 3:20; 1 Peter 2:9).

Psalm 37:3-6
|
|
Trust in the Lord and do
good; dwell in the land and cultivate
faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord;
and He will give you the desires of your
heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust
also in Him, and He will do it. He will
bring forth your righteousness as the light
and your judgment as the noonday. (NASB) |

Ephesians 3:14-21
|
|
For
this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom
every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that
He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the
inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through
faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in
love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what
is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to
know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that
you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to
Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that
we ask or think, according to the power that works within
us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ
Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (NASB) |
