At The
Master's Church, we take the Bible seriously, making it,
and not human tradition, our rule of faith and practice. Knowing
that many churches have the same goal, but not the same
understanding of God's Word, we offer the following abbreviated summary of
our beliefs. If you would like a more detailed statement of
our beliefs, click
here.
-
We
believe the Bible is God's written revelation to man. It is
verbally inspired in every word, and absolutely inerrant in the
original documents. We affirm the infallibility, sufficiency, and
authority of Scripture.
-
We
believe in the one true, living, and eternal God who
upholds all things by the word of His power. He exists in three
persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one; each
having exactly the same essence, attributes, and perfections. They
are each worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience.
-
We
believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His
Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His
vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father,
and in His personal return in power and glory.
-
We
believe that the salvation of man, who is sinful and
utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to
God apart from divine grace, is instantaneous and accomplished
solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality
of the Word of God when the repentant sinner- enabled by the Holy
Spirit- responds in faith. This salvation is wholly by God's
sovereign grace on the basis of the redeeming work of Jesus
Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human
merit or works. All the redeemed are kept by God's power and are
thus secure in Christ forever.
-
We
believe in the Spirit-filled life. As the supernatural and
sovereign Agent in regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes all
believers into the Body of Christ at the moment of salvation. The
Holy Spirit also indwells, empowers, sanctifies, instructs, gifts
them for service, and seals them unto the day of redemption.
-
We
believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and
the unsaved; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the
unsaved unto the resurrection of eternal punishment.
-
We
believe that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are
immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual
Body, the church, of which Christ is the Head. Christ mediates His
rule in the church through men who are Biblically qualified
elders. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by building
its members up in the faith, by preaching and teaching the Bible,
by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper
and Believer’s Baptism, and by taking the gospel to the entire
world. Baptism by immersion is prerequisite for membership
in our local church. The church is distinct from Israel. The
formation of the church, the Body of
Christ, began on the Day of Pentecost and will be completed at the
coming of Christ for His own at the Rapture.

1 Timothy 3:16 |
|
By common confession,
great is the mystery of godliness: He who
was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in
the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among
the nations, believed on in the world, taken
up in glory. (NASB) |

Titus 2:1 |
|
But as for you, speak
the things which are fitting for sound
doctrine. (NASB) |
